Alternate 1900s Ideology, Culture, and Social Progression?

Technological progress is about the same as otl. Are there any ideological, cultural, or social trends that are inevitable or could alternate paths have occurred? For example, could fascism survive until the present time? Could communism? Could Empires? Could a absolute monarch? Could western views of women stay closer to middle eastern ones into current times? Could women rights be considered more progressive then otl now by the 1940s somewhere in the world? Could racial science and segregation survive into the modern day or end in the 1930s? Could we have a world of fascism and communism against each other with no democracy? Could we have just a world with a odd mix of views and ideas across the planet?

Basically, is there some clear guidelines on how the 1900s will develop and turn out or no? Please give thought and pod ideas on this?

Nothing is set in stone, and the farther back you go the more divergent you end up. If we assume that technological progress remains roughly the same (far from guaranteed in the long term given the impact of particularly World War II and the Cold War on technological development) and the POD is sometime later than 1900, there is plenty of room to play around. One particular area is ideology, as there were several competing schools of socialist thought not to mention the various proto-fascist currents. As for the rest, the question of changes in social trends and the possible survival of discredited ideologies (or there TTL stand-ins, at any rate) are both intimately tied together so that one cannot realistically change without influencing the other. I didn't give any sample PODs but I hope it helps. Check out the thread on could-have-been ideologies over in pre-1900 and go from there.

This is one of the few times I will say stick solely to the 1900s and nothing before. If anyone makes a pod it has to be 1900 or later. The reason I included similar technology progress is to avoid getting too much into. That can be discussion of its own. Technology can be 5 or so years difference from otl but nothing more. The only technology difference I can see greatly changing is the invention of micro chips and stuff like it or lack of. If they invent that around the same time I think technology goes similar to otl. Also, I don’t want people on here using technological stagnation or alternative technological paths as a excuse for the continuation or survival of what ideology or culture idea they give. One of the points of this is can alternate ideology like fascism, communism, colonialism, or whatever you propose can make it in a world with otl technologies like iPhones and computers or the their alternative counterparts. I feel like people often view things as too set in stone. For example, the mindsets of Europeans in 1913 is almost alien to Europeans now in many ways. Without the experiences of the world wars how different will they truly be by the 2000s. I often see people on here post about how decolonization or democratic values are inevitable or bound to eventually happen but are they really? I personally see the century easily going down multiple different paths due to the smallest changes. I would really like others input and ideas on this

Syndicalism could have potentially been a major rival or alternative to Leninism as the leading ideology of the far-left.

In terms of LGBT rights preventing the rise of Fascism in Germany could mean that the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft wouldn't have been suppressed which set LGBT rights back decades.
