Promotion from the Championship to the Prem doesn’t actually require winning the Championship. They obviously play in the Premier League, but must have been just good enough not to get relegated, as they’d probably have more trophies for bouncing back up from the 2nd division. So they aren’t a pathetically bad team, but a middle to lower middle of the road team that just kind of exists.

Of the 3 Championship teams that were promoted to this year’s PL for example, Fulham won the league to get promoted, Bournemouth was league runners up, and Forest finished 4th but won the playoff.
If Richmond was perpetually rubberbanding between the Prem and the Championship, they could actually have won very few trophies but are perpetual runners up
One weird set of films that can be linked are "Dr. Dolittle " and "Shanghai Knights". In both films, an unknown British Lord attempts to overthrow the British Monarchy, both targeting Queen Victoria:

"Around the world in 80 days" might also fitChuck Sherlock Holmes in there for the plot to poison Parliament as well...
Not to mention the first flight was made years earlier using parts from a ship while at sea."Around the world in 80 days" might also fit
It also features Jackie Chan and Queen Victoria with a group of british nobles who openly disdain the monarchy betting against him while the Queen supported his effort
Not to mention in "Doctor Dolittle ", the idea of psychology for humans, much less animals and pets is developed a fl 75+ years before Sigmund Freud or Carl Jung...Not to mention the first flight was made years earlier using parts from a ship while at sea.
Or, in the fandom based cinematographic Holmes verse... What about Enola Holmes (2020) with a British female teen of the Holmes family, in the Victorian Britain, IIRC, managing to devel and foil a plot against the Parliament (House of Lores) means to stop the ruling party passing of the Third Reform Act ...Chuck Sherlock Holmes in there for the plot to poison Parliament as well...
Interesting. I forgot about that. Still, having few trophies doesn't automatically make you the worst club in football, just not very good. I kind of compare it to college sports in the US. For example, my school, the University of Nebraska had Amazing football until 20 years ago and have been garbage for the past five years, but with basketball they have never won a march madness tournament game and have only appeared seven times. Now just because they haven't won in the big dance doesn't make them terrible. Sure, they are not a good program who falls short, but are more or less average. They are not the worst usually though.Promotion from the Championship to the Prem doesn’t actually require winning the Championship.

So 9/11 on Esteroids? What about the movie The Siege , with Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis. About a fictional terrorist attack on New York City that force the military to take over the city to down the terrorists.
In Shanghai Knights it was not an unknown lord, but a member of the royal family and in the line of succession (the 10th one?), thus the reason why he planned the mass murder of the Queen and the rest of the members who were above him.One weird set of films that can be linked are "Dr. Dolittle " and "Shanghai Knights". Not only that but that lord was also in league with the Boxers. Which makes for a very bizarre alliance considering how fiercely anti-foreign the Boxers were.In Shanghai Knights it was not an unknown lord, but a member of the royal family and in the line of succession (the 10th one?), thus the reason why he planned the mass murder of the Queen and the rest of the members who were above him.
But yeah, that scenario implies the royal family would be afraid of that happening again and probably a "witch-hunt" inside the family. A lot more paranoia in general, as well, thing that could be exploited by outside actors, both inside and outside the country.
I found a mummified Abraham Lincoln in a Confederate Ironclad that's sitting in a dried up African riverbed totally plausible, myself.Indeed, such as a secret US Lunar Base discovered,IIRC, in the aftermath of an Russian nuclear warhead detonation in Cuban soil or a Chinese backed major terrorist attempt targeting the Mississippi river locks/dams with the goal of change its curse...
Well, it, considering the rest of his plots, the RPCH not wanting it back might be the only thing that,IMO, 'd make more or less sense...
Global recession, massive investment by the UK into flood prevention, probably more investment into climate change mitigation for major cities, and a likely change in government for the UK as whichever party was in charge at the time is likely to get ousted for letting this happen (even if an act of God this bad is not something anyone could have seriously seen coming). What's the after effects of hundreds dead, a major financial centre being knocked out of action, and billions in property damage?
