Thats a good idea, ok, who then rules in Alsace, and what are its alliegiencies, i see Bavaria looking hungry.
Okay, here's a thought: Talleyrand's plan for splitting up the Kingdom of the Netherlands comes up this early, and that serves as a basis for compensation with the loss of Alsace, and maybe even including Lorraine.
As I posted on the last page, I was thinking of trade-off between Austria and France where Austrian South Netherlands is switched with Alsace. As for Flanders, most likely will just be part of the Netherlands. Also I doubt they want to give France part of the southern Netherlands (which barely had been French in the first place), at the same time as they take away part of France (which had been French for quite a while).
Good idea.I think the best case for an independent Alsace (with or without part of Lorraine) would be if they decide to punish France harder than they did OTL. Because Napoleon wins at Waterloo and creates chaos for a couple of months longer (rather unlikely as most decisions in Vienna were made before Waterloo), because there are some butterflies at the end of the Napoleonic wars leading to more anger towards France (and possibly its allies, like Saxony and Bavaria, which could be interesting in a ATL Congress of Vienna) or maybe butterfly away/kill Talleyrand.
