Allies decide they will end the war on German soil

What if, in WWI, the Western Allies didn't allow Germany the November 11th armistice, but instead decided that they wanted Germany to be beatin even worse and experience war on their own soil? Several commanders(Including Foch and Pershing) didn't want the war to end until even more demanding peace conditions could be obtained.

So what if those two had their way?

The politicians who allowed them to would probably be thrown out of office - they would have passed up an opportunity to end the war immediately, with the Germans having got rid of the Kaiser and the monarchies and agreeing to an immediate Armistice.

Thousands more Allied soldiers are going to die, and everyone will know who's fault it is

The revolt of the German sailors has no connection with the armistice. And if the changes introduced already (parliamentarisation, no Kaiser anymore) do not suffice for an armistice, Germany may well tumble into anarchy or Bolshevik revolution (or both). The moderate SPD was only able to influence things because the war was over, which was the most important desire of the German people. If the war does not stop, Germany may go ultra red.
That really would give the Allied Armies something to do.

There was a plan drawn up in late 1918 for use in the projected offensive of 1919 to take the Metz bridges that involved then-Captain Louis Brereton (future commander of the 1st Airborne Army in WWII) commanding a select force (battalion-sized) of 1st Infantry Division troops in a parachute assault to cement the projected breakthroughs that would be occuring in the area from Allied armour.

It's an interesting thing to think about. The Germans got their Kaiserschlact, but the Allies didn't.

However, the whole war was pointless, and alot of good men died for nothing more than old mens' vanity and inability to step back and talk.
