We all know about the German "supertanks" of WW2, the Tiger, the Maus and the Ratte, but what about Allied heavy tanks.
All the Allies tried to build them with the Russians having the most success not only designing but feilding the
KV Series and the
IS Series.
Britain and America had less luck with the latter deadending with the
M-6 before going off on a tangent with the
T-28, covering similar ground to the British
Tortoise. Even postwar Britain and America never designed a decent heavy tank, instead they pioneered its replacement, the MBT.
What, though, if they did?
Your challenge is to design either a British or American heavy tank with similar levels of protection and firepower to the Tiger 1. It must be ready for action by D-Day, it must be a "true" tank, not an assault gun like the T-28 or Tortoise and it must be an original design, not a Centurion or Pershing speeded up in development.
