Allied Supertanks: The Anglo-American Tiger Tank Challenge

Yep :D:D

Wonder what one to use :D

Any thoughts ......???

Well the 32lb AT gun was developed from the 3.75 inch AA gun. The later versions of this tried using the Naval 4.5 inch with a 3.7 inch liner but settled on the 5.25 inch mount and a longer 3.7 inch barrel. This drove a shell up to 50,000ft (15,240m)! You could either use this, the muzzle velocity was over 4,000 fps or settle for a lower muzzle velocity and larger shell and go with the 5.25 barrel.

Well that’s the armament sorted, for the British Heavy tanks, what about the US versions?

Assuming that these tanks are formed into heavy tank battalions like the Germans did with there Tiger tanks this will mean 42 tanks per battalion this will mean each battalion will have around 1,000 troops or more.

Also there will need to be a recovery version of this type of tank.

This should give the Allies a bit of extra firepower :D

Wonder what this sort of tank would look like?

* Halt production on a couple Sherman production lines for a few months to retool, divert the steel and other materials needed (you could build 2.5 Shermans for every M-6). Pray you don't need the 1,500 -2,000 or so Shermans that you can't produce while you are retooling or the 1,200 a month that you have permanantly lost from production.

*Redesign the LST so they can handle the monster without collapsing their ramps or having the blasted thing get stuck halfway through the doors.

Or you just convert one of the (light)M3´s production lines, as this tank was obviously undergunned and ill-protected.

Why use an LST? Merchant ship and crane works, too.
