What with today being the anniversary of the Battle of Balaclava, I was wondering what consequences there would be if the Light Brigade had charged the correct target and the battle had ended in a clear victory for the British/French/Turkish alliance. Would this have had a significant effect on the outcome of the Crimean War?

Furthermore, Tennyson's "The Charge of the Light Brigade" had a significant cultural impact in Britain. In particular, Dixon's Psychology of Military Incompetence credits it with strengthening the structures and traditions that had allowed for the blunder in the first place.
