All of this because of a Dead Hooker - The Presidency of Darius N. Couch

So instead of just being concussed at Chancellorsville Fightin' Joe Hooker is straight up killed. General Couch takes over and does not retreat and manages if not to win the battle outright he does greatly mitigate the damage done by the Robert E. Lee.

Can Couch push these chips into the middle of the table and let them ride thus achieving greatness?

By what year could he be President?

What is everyone's thoughts on how that happens?

What would a Couch Presidency look like?

1) Yes, the victory in Chancellorsville would be of great political importance , particularly if Lee is knocked out.
2) 1864 if Lincoln's assassination isn't butterflied away. 1868 otherwise .

Hmmmmm, Does a major victory for the North at Chancellorsville end the Civil War before 1864?

If the war ends before 1864 I do wonder if Booth is ready to pull off the assassination, or anyone else.

Lincoln probably goes on to win in 1864 and then finish his two terms.

Even if it does I think 1864 is too early for a war hero to run for President.

Does Hooker become the exalted Martyr?

If Chancellorville does lead to the fall of Richmond, and Lee is killed or captured does that mean the Civil War ends in guerilla warfare?

Where is the new CSA capitol, Atlanta leaps to mind.
