All Hail the Other Guy

Your challenge if you choose to accept it: is to remove the House of Hanover and their descendants from ruling Great Britain during or after the reign of George III. The one restriction, Great Britain cannot be conquered by a foreign nation, however you get bonus points if you break the union of England and Scotland.

George III was certainly a stronger and more dedicated monarch than anyone else of his line save maybe Victoria. And by her time, the real power of the monarchy had been eclipsed.

Basically, George III would have to die almost childless, meaning very young, and one of his good for nothing brothers take over and run the country into the ground. Even then, there should be some nephews or grand-nephews by his sisters (Queen of Denmark and Duchess of Brunswick) whom could assume control.

He may have followed through on one of his occasional threats to abdicate when being bullied by his ministers in the 1760's (pre Lord North era) or he could try to fight them off and lose.

In the end, George III was determined to hold his own perceived powers but was still raised to be a constitutional monarch by his parents and tutors. He was unlikely to fight Parliament to the point of being removed. He knew his place too well. He merely wanted to maintain the status quo in what he perceived as a steady weakening of the crown, not return to Autocracy.

I don't see this one happening. The House of Hanover was 60 years plus on the throne and no one really hated them that much as they conceded so much power to Parliament.

. One of queen Anne's children survives childhood. So the house of Hanover never rules England

ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!!!

Yes, I've watched Code Geass too.
ALL HAIL THE 99th EMPEROR! ALL HAIL LELOUCH!
In all seriousness, perhaps a disastrous defeat in the Seven Years war, loss of American/Indian colonies causes some unrest, maybe one of George III's brother's takes over?

A better idea, is Emperor Napoleon I. A successful Napoleonic "Operation Sealion" might be enough to end the House of Hanover. Of course, that would have some big ramifications.

DOWN WITH BRITANNIA, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

*Battle Cry of Freedom plays in the background*

GOD BLESS AMERICA, MOTHERFUCKER!!!

But the lyrics to Hail columbia are the best.

Hail Columbia, happy land!
Hail, ye heroes, heav'n-born band,
Who fought and bled in freedom's cause,
Who fought and bled in freedom's cause,
And when the storm of war was gone
Enjoy'd the peace your valor won.
Let independence be our boast,
Ever mindful what it cost;
Ever grateful for the prize,
Let its altar reach the skies.

Chorus
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.

Immortal patriots, rise once more,
Defend your rights, defend your shore!
Let no rude foe, with impious hand,
Let no rude foe, with impious hand,
Invade the shrine where sacred lies
Of toil and blood, the well-earned prize,
While off'ring peace, sincere and just,
In Heaven's we place a manly trust,
That truth and justice will prevail,
And every scheme of bondage fail.

Chorus
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.

Behold the chief who now commands,
Once more to serve his country stands.
The rock on which the storm will break,
The rock on which the storm will break,
But armed in virtue, firm, and true,
His hopes are fixed on Heav'n and you.
When hope was sinking in dismay,
When glooms obscured Columbia's day,
His steady mind, from changes free,
Resolved on death or liberty.

Chorus
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.

Sound, sound the trump of fame,
Let Washington's great name
Ring through the world with loud applause,
Ring through the world with loud applause,
Let ev'ry clime to freedom dear,
Listen with a joyful ear,
With equal skill, with God-like pow'r
He governs in the fearful hour
Of horrid war, or guides with ease
The happier time of honest peace.

Chorus
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.

My zero-in-depth-knowledge, made up in five minutes outline:
George III's children all die in early childhood. The grief from this results in him becoming a somewhat more bitter man. When the situation in America heats up, he becomes more aggressive in demanding that parliament crush the colonists. An earlier, messier American revolution occurs, with many sympathizers in Britain. One of these sympathizers murders him, and an incompetent brother of your choice takes over an tries to meddle in politics, further souring the British public to monarchy. When the French revolution occurs, a string of sympathetic revolutions in Britain end up with Scotland a republic and the House of Hannover removed with extreme prejudice.

What about letting Ernest Augustus, duke of Cumberland succeed? He was pretty unpopular. He gets dethroned in a British analogue of the 1848. And Britain sends the rest of the house of Hannover packing
