Alexei and Anastasia survive the Russian revolution? How would their lives look?

This is not to far fetched, let's say the white army advances earlier than thought and the guards watching the Romanovs got drunk and Romanovs attempted to make it to safety but soviet soldiers else where saw them shot at them killing some, Alexei amd Annastasia play dead while the guards get a wagon and then make a run towards the white army. Assuming that Alexei and Annastasia are able to survive the attempt on their life at the Ipatiev house, how would this play out? Would Annastasia and Alexei go into hiding in Ukraine or would they head to Paris towards their family? Would the Alexei want it known he was alive? Would Alexei and Annastasia be killed by Joseph Stalin like he killed Trotsky? Would they ever be safe? Would they live a quiet life like Vasili Filatov did who was thought to be Alexei? Would Alexei come out with Annastasia to disprove people like Heino Tammet and Anna Anderson?

It would have made more sense for the Romanovs to leave during the turmoil of the Provisional Government, or at the most extreme, have the messenger sending the death warrant for the family captured by White scouts, prompting a rescue. In any case, the surviving royals probably spend the rest of their lives in the West as exiles, all while trying to avoid mysterious cases of headaches via ice picks. They could also try to disprove the phonies running around, or given that their survival would have been known, that imposters outright never tried.

In the end, while the succession would have been far clearer with Alexei's survival, it really won't make much of a difference if the Whites lose anyway.

Hemophiliacs didn't have long lives prior to effective treatment becoming available. Alexei would have been lucky if he had lived into his thirties even with the best medical care. Anastasia is documented to have been a symptomatic carrier which would have colored every decision in her life until the highly likely event she died by misadventure because of it.
The family itself would have spent the rest of their lives in exile, hiding from public attention because the alternative would involve Soviet agents kicking in their door.

Alexei probably would die anyway in few years from complications of hemophilia and Anastasia would live in strongly guarded mansion at supurb of Paris. Anastasia and Alexei could tell where remnants of their family is.

But generally this probably doesn't change much. But there is very small possibility that someone declare Anastasia as rightful heir when there is not too many romanov males left and so if she gets children issue over Romanov succession issue will be messier.

Soviet propaganda would probably use them as boogeymen. Having them alive might also help to keep White èmigrè communities more unified. Having them might also boost the morale of White forces during the Civil War, but effects of that are hard to quantify.

If Alexei lives long enough to marry and have kids, there may be hope yet for the Russian royal line... males do not pass down hemophillia.
