Alexander Prince of Scotland has children

Alexander Prince of Scotland, was the oldest son and heir of King Alexander III of Scotland, he was born in 1264, and in November 1282 he married Margaret of Flanders, in Otl they had no issue, but the premise of this timeline is what if they had had issue, twin sons to be exact.

If Alexander still dies in 1284, what does his father the king do? Does he still remarry or not? If he does remarry, would he still die?

If Prince Alexander has an heir and a spare before he dies, no way does Alexander III remarry, there simply is no need. OTL he did because after the death of all of his children his only heir was his granddaughter Margaret and even then when he had no other issue and he died Margaret had been recognised as heir and betrothed to Edward II.

Simply put: with two grandsons the guardians of Scotland act as regents until their majority, one of the children becomes the new king, the interregnums and Wars of Scottish independence are butterflied, Scotland and England remain amicable with one another and Edward I spends his last years crusading in the Holy Land instead of in Scotland.

Okay interesting, you do not think he'd look to bring Scotland in?

And what might happen with the conflicts between the guardians?

Of course, if he does not marry Yolande how does Alexander die, and not live to old age, or until his grandsons are old enough to rule on their own?

And of course, there is the other scenario, I am considering, where Alexander of Scotland has only the one son, and a daughter, what does Alexander III do then?
