Alexander IV of Scotland

In the 1470s, King James III of Scotland arrested his brothers Alexander, Duke of Albany and John, Earl of Mar, accusing them of plotting against him.
Mar was killed. The Duke of Albany escaped and then returned with an English army, claiming the throne as Alexander IV.

Suppose the rebels succeed. The Duke of Albany reigns as King Alexander IV. What happens then?

Scotland becomes a vassal state of the Kingdom of England, as per the Treaty of Fotheringway. Chances are it'll be unpopular...chances are it'll lead to Scottish War of Independence III, which would further complicate the Yorkist situation during the War of the Roses.
