Alexander invades Arabia

Alexander had plans to conquer Arabia after he returned from India, but he died (from food poisoning/disease/poisoned) before that could happen at the young age of 33. Let's imagine Alexander didn't die and he invaded Arabia. How would that have worked out, and what would he have done next after he succeeded/failed?

He spends his time quelling revolts instead. I feel like such a cynic, but that’s what would probably happen just judging by the events after his death. His empire’s big, his generals fought each other, and he’s just one guy who was a great conquerer, but probably not a good manager.

Y'know there'd really be no incentive to go into the Arabian Peninsula, save for maybe taking the Hijaz as far as Jedda... And if he did, it wouldn't really change the development of the area significantly.

He'd have more important places to conquer or control, as mentioned.

I think Arabia is as far as he could conceivably go. Anything further west would just destroy his empire while he still lived, and destroy his "undefeated" reputation, as revolts crush his empire all around him.

I could easily imagine him conquering Tripoli and Tunis, perhaps even going as far as the Maghreb... However, it is more likely that he'd spend the rest of his life simply maintaining the Empire he had carved out until his death.
