Alexander and the West

Gaius Julius Magnus

Gone Fishin'
Let's say Alexander didn't die and went on to continue his conquests only taking his talents Westward. What are the possibilties of Alexander actually suceeding and bringing the lands of Carthage, Saudi Arabia, and Rome under his foot. And if he were to live much longer would his empire remain intact or would it slowy breakaprt like his Mongolian counterpart's empire did.

Arabia, in ancient times, pretty much meant the coast down to what is now Bahrain. This would have been pretty easy for Alexander to conquer.

Carthage, his stated goal, would have been considerably more difficult. But with such vast resources at his disposal, and his record of constant success, I would not put it past him.

Not sure about Rome. It is not definitively proven that he had any ambitions in Italy. But had he succeeded in North Africa, who knows what he would have done.
