Alec Douglas-Home killed in 1964

in 1964 two left wing students from the University of Aberdeen tried to kidnap Prime Minster Alec Douglas-Home, the PM was alone and they could of easily done it, but Home kept his wits about him and talked them out of it, stating “I suppose you realise if you do the Conservatives will win the election by 200 or 300.” after a few hours with the would-be kidnappers Home got them to give up their plan and let him go, but what if things had gone wrong? and Home was killed in a try to kidnap him?

Prime Minister Rab Butler, or Prime Minister Ted Heath, with roughly 430 of 630 seats. I don't want to know how the UK economy looks after two Heath terms...

As far as I remember, he actually turned them around to the extent that he had a beer with them! They wern't killers, simply student radical types. That being said, if he were killed, expect a Tory victory at any subsequent general election on a wave of sympathy.

I wasn't saying they were killers I'm saying that they're young (not very smart) and likely armed and jumpy, a few wrong words or moves, they do something dumb, a good blow to the head, or a stab, Home isn't a young man, he's 61 wouldn't be hard for him to die

I think Butler would have won out, rememeber the Magic Circle still choose Tory leaders at this point which would have favoured him over Heath.

That reminds me of the family guy episode where the British took over the clam and use their superior British linguistic skill to get Peter and co to leave
