Albanian WI: Yugoslav Republic?

So...right now I'm sitting in my room in Tirana Albania of all places, taking a break from my language studies. I'm here in order to learn the language and do some research for my future graduate level research on Albanians who saved Jews during the Holocaust...

But that's not the point...

Having become much more familiar with Albanian history over the past year or so, I think that there are a few recent examples that have considerable AH potential. As today is the official Day of National Liberation here in Albania, I thought it would be interesting to posit an alternate scenario...

The insane isolationism that dominated Albania during the Cold War period was by no means unavoidable, and indeed, given the nature of the Albanian communist movement somewhat surprising. You see originally, the Albanian communist movement was very much pro-Yugoslavian, favoring the creation of a Pan-Balkan state in order to further the cause of the proletariat. They believed that the best future for the Albanian people was one in which they abandoned nationalism. Yet with the coming of the Second World War this began to change as more and more Albanian nationalists joined the party such as the infamous Enver Hoxha. These staunch Albanian nationalists came to dominate more and more of the party, eventually purging the pro-Yugoslav members from their midst in the late 1940's and setting Albania down the path of OTL.

However let's turn the tables, let's have Koçi Xoxe and the pro-Yugoslav faction of the Albanian communists be more astute and outmaneuver Hoxha and his ilk. Xoxe not Hoxha becomes the de facto leader of Albania and pushes for an even closer relationship with Yugoslavia after Tito and Stalin have their falling out. From what I've read, Tito was willing to make major concessions to Albania in order to get them to join Yugoslavia. Albanian portions of Kosovo, Montenegro, and Macedonia would be added to Albania and considerable autonomy granted if only Albania would join Yugoslavia as a Yugoslav Republic. Let's say that Xoxe agrees and over the course of the late 1940's and early 1950's Albania is integrated into Yugoslavia as a separate Republic. Sure both the Albanians and the Serbs will have issues with such a settlement but I don't think that said issues are insurmountable.

In the immediate term, Albania will benefit from such an arrangement. As a part of a larger economy, Greater Albania will be able to specialize it's economy instead of pushing towards autarky. Furthermore the resources spent in OTL constructing thousands of bunkers will be put to better use perhaps improving infrastructure, tying together the various portions of Greater Albania.

However where this gets really interesting is later on in the 20th century following the death of Tito and the (probable) collapse of Yugoslavia. In such a scenario I'd wager that simmering tensions between Albanians and Serbs over Kosovo would add an interesting (in the Chinese sense) angle to the breakup of Yugoslavia. However I'm not that familiar with the details of that period (my expertise is more focused on pre-1948 matters). Anyone care to speculate?

Albanians are not only tough as nails, they're the source of both Mother Theresa and John Belushi.

I think P.J. O'Rourke wrote that he was impressed that Albanians historically built their villages on the tops of mountains. (Take a wild guess what the only practical advantage is of doing so.)

Something tells me that at the very, very least, the "ethnic cleansing" of twenty years ago would not have gotten nearly as far in this tl.
