Al Gore in 2008

Uhh, the GOP doesn't have any blacks in '08 (Powell is too liberal and too old). Jindal is far too inexperienced as a VP pick in 2008. More likely Romney picks Pawlenty to offset his wealthy image with Pawlenty's blue-collar creds.

There is no way the Democrats would pick Gore. He already lost his election to George Bush and he has a lot of baggage that they don't. The Republicans would have a field day with his Global Warming hypocrisy. You can't tell everyone to cut down on energy consumption when you go everywhere on private jets, use 20 times the electricity as the average American and are going to profit heavily on cap and trade.

"We're not Bush's third term, but we're picking Bush's Secretary of State!"

She was clearly the most popular of Bush's cabinet. Her approval rating was never poor and she is clearly very bright. She probably would have been a better candidate than Macain. I admit that isn't saying much.

Gore vs McCain really would be like Nixon vs Humphrey. McCain and Humphrey have a lot of parallels, both were primary candidates eight years before the actually got the nomination, both were once considered to be men of integrity but by the time they actually got the nomination were a shadow of there former self, both were too close politically to a Texas warmonger whose ass they needed to kiss to get the nomination.
