"Air Force One" midair collision in 1953

According to Wikipedia and other source:
"Columbine II is the first plane to bear the call sign Air Force One. This designation for the U.S. Air Force aircraft carrying the incumbent president was established after an incident in 1953, when Eastern Air Lines 8610, a commercial flight, crossed paths with Air Force 8610, which was carrying President Eisenhower. Initially used informally, the designation became official in 1962."

What if disaster happen and both aircraft collided in midair, killing the President Eisenhower. Would the world change much or keep almost the same as OTL?

Nixon succeeds Eisenhower in office, so the United States likely uses nuclear weapons in support of the French in Indochina.

It does make sense in a way. In 1953 the Soviet nuclear arsenal was still small and they didn't really have any way to deliver those nukes to the Continental US.
Big, big attitude difference in the U.S. We just walked out of a divided Korea. There were no anti-war protests at home. So Goldwater 1965 becomes Nixon 1954. Khrushchev has to stand down cautiously. The trouble is, what does that do for the Cold War in the sixties? Does Nixon's youth make people over-cautious about JFK?

It could change America's industrial priorities. No Eisenhower, Interstate highways unlikely. The public might become more wary of air travel. You might see a return of WW2 defense related strategies in public policy.
