From the same world as the American Space Craft. This is a .5C maximum space probe, meant to go to unsurveyed systems and send back information. These probes have point-to-point quantum ansibles allowing them to, although many light years away, send back information instantly.

Time for some wackiness : I give you the Westland Wessex of the Tristan da Cunha Air Force (TDCAF), one of several in the No. 1 Squadron, aka "Glass's Albatrosses". :D A roundel can be found here. Not as aburd as you think, since a few Wessex helis have landed on the island in the past (taking off from nearby navy vessels) - they were probably one of the first aircraft to ever land on the island.

It's not just about Arrows. If North American Aviation had put the jet intake somewhere else, and lowered the wing loading, they might have had a contender with the seven, the Super Super Sabre.

The F-107 lost the procurement contract because pilots didn't want to get sucked into the compressor stages of a Pratt & Whitney J-75 engine. It wouldn't hurt the engine. The winner was the F-105 Thunderchief (Thud), with the same engine, and the same high wing loading. My drawings never depict un-modified aircraft, but resemble to some degree, something a little different. The NAA heritage that began with the Mustang through Sabre and Hun, ended with the 107.

The AAV Shizukesa, an illegally constructed Imperial Japanese aerodreadnought of the Kongo-class that was impressed into service with the League Armada's 4th Cruiser Squadron in 1927 shortly after being boarded and captured by personnel of the Armada Marine Corps in the Battle of the Formosa Straits.

"Good day to you, our beloved caudillo ! El Presidente, I am very pleased to report that your amazing diplomatic and rhetoric skills have once again brought glory and power to our humble República de Isla Tropico ! The Fuerza Aérea Tropicana has just acquired the P-51 Mustangs promised by those insidious Yanquis. The prestige of our dear little homeland has grown again ! Viva, el Presidente !" ;)

(OOC : Standard jungle camo, late 1960s. Based on a template of an actual El Salvadoran P-51 from the same era. The roundel can be seen here. The plane serves in the "1st Fighter Squadron Macaw".)

"El Presidente, barely a year has passed since we've received our first batch of P-51s from the Yanqui government. And the second one is already on its way ! They even gave us a discount : It only cost 50 million tropesos this time ! Wonderful news, am I not right ? Oh, I see. You approve of our choice of the brand new grey and green camouflage pattern. We're very glad for that, caudillo ! Viva Tropico, viva el Presidente ! We'll get to work right away... "

(OOC : Another real El Salvadoran P-51 used as a template. The fin flash is the actual official flag of Tropico, used in that game series since Tropico 3. The plane serves in the "2nd Fighter Squadron Parakeet".)

"El Presidente ! I'm thrilled to announce that the C-47s of our Fuerza Aérea's transport wing have finally returned to our main airbase, after the many weeks of repairs and upgrades that you ordered not too long ago."

(OOC : And I'd like to thank Patrice Gaubert for his excellent Yugoslav C-47. ;))

"Excellent news for you, El Presidente ! The batch of new planes you ordered from the Yanquis has just arrived ! They're now Tropico's first ever jet-powered combat aircraft. I'm sure that with these, we can crush those filthy insurg... erm... neutralize the unruly elements of the populace in the north of the island easily..."

(OOC : And so, the Tropicans have gained their first jets and ground attack planes, all in one. ;) I think it speaks volumes that the Tropico Air Force even has such a thing as dedicated COIN squadrons (specifically, the Dragonflies serve in the "1st COIN Squadron Avenger"). :D  The image is based on this one (Guatemalan A-37, courtesy of Tom Cooper) and I've modified the camo quite a bit. Next up : Tropican Pucarás ! ;))

"Good news, El Presidente. The honorable seńor Galtieri and co. have sent us a few Pucarás, to aid us in our neverending struggle with those pesky insurg... I mean... unwise dissenters. I am confident that this will bolster our brave Fuerza Aérea even more !"

(OOC : I've used this profile (British-captured Pucará from the time of the FW) as the basic template. The plane serves in the "2nd Counter-insurgency Squadron Liberator" of the Tropico Air Force.)
