Gentlemen HMS illustrious and HMS Ark royal has moved within 150 miles of the Italian coast. HMS Furious and HMS Courageous are 100 miles to the south-east. The plan is to launch two waves from one group while another two waves launch half an hour after. By the second strike arrives it's hoped they will know that we are there.

Sooooo just 90+ strike planes instead of the 21 sent OTL
Hopefully the 2 most experienced Squadrons will each get the Littorio and Vittorio Veneto - give them 12 fish each - they are the prize

It's not a given, more aircraft mean also more possibility to being discovered and much of the balloon barrage around Taranto was destroyed by the weather the days before
