AHQ: How long did it take Singapore to form?

in other words, how long did it take for
i) Chinese immigrants to come to Singapore and reside there for several generations
ii) the Chinese in Singapore to dominate the merchant class in the area
iii) become the dominant 'minority' in the area?
Did it begin with the Treasure Fleets? when was there a boom in Chinese immigration to the area?
some things I'd like an answer for, thanks.

my brain must have bad a seizure. what the hell happened.
but, of course, less sarcasm and some data (NUMBERS, thats what I was looking for, thinking there may be an immigration office or something) would have been useful. Which both did not provide.
well, maybe this is the exception.
Before Raffles arrived, there were around 1,000 people living in Singapore, mostly indigenous Malay community, and 20-30 Chinese. By 1860, the population exceeded 80,000, with over half of the population being Chinese.
but, as I said, there must be more specific data anywhere?

I'm not certain, actually. Singapore was basically a wild port city and pirate den until the British conquered it. Even after the British took it over, it took a while to impose order. Censuses were probably not high on anyone's list of priorities until everything was properly settled down.
