AHFA European Championship 2020

AHFA Euro 2020 - Opening Post
Modified from @Baconheimer 's opening post of the AHFA 2020 World Cup:

With social distancing still the best option, and the OTL Euro 2020 postponed to the summer of 2021, let's play and experience Euro 2020 in an alternate universe!

This is a game in the spirit of the 2012 AH Euro Football Championship, the AHFA Euro 2016, and the diverse AH World Cups - among them AHFA World Cup 2020, which has just concluded.

Basically, we will create a bunch of fictional nations and teams and then simulate soccer matches between these teams.

Some rules:
  • 24 teams will participate.
  • Reservations must be made in the public thread (not just in a conversation/PM). They should be honoured, and if you want to use reserved territory for your nation, you should contact the person who has reserved it.
  • All teams shall be at least recognisably different from teams in the 2020 AHFA World Cup.

If you are interested, you can submit a team in this thread using the template form included below. After that, we will figure out the host nation for the tournament via a poll, and then simulate the matches.

Use this form to submit a team - you are absolutely free to provide more information:

I kind of want to do an Arab Sicily. What do people think of that?
Great.

Double-pointers if you do a Christian Arab Sicily (or Maltese Sicily*)

EDIT: *This is without Malta itself because (you guessed it) I also reserved that as well.

I mentioned this several times but I have reserved much of Provence's territory (including Provence itself) for my nation long before the thread was up. I'll post the map since I'm out right now, but safe to say Provence is no good

Reserving before the thread is even up? Mate that’s straight unfair. No I won’t be removing my country, I came first and you didn’t post anything here.

Well, I specifically wrote a post saying which said was reserved for my nation in the very thread. Obviously this was done so that I can fill it in once I got back to it.

And if you're not removing your country, fine then let's put to a vote by everyone then (But only after I've put in my nation WITH PROVENCE.

So here's a map for now. I've only added Denmark and Finland as the other countries don't have a clear territorial definition for QBAM.
