The Iran-Iraq war lasted from 1980-1988, saw the use of child soldiers, chemical weapons and the neat sinking of the USS Stark, not to mention immense issues such as the Iran Contra Affair. In the end, well over a million are calculated to have died.

However, it ended in a stalemate. It saw no territorial change, no political shifts, and only left both sides licking near decade long wounds.

My challenge to you: win the Iran-Iraq War, for either side. Perhaps a stunning Iraqi victory that shatters the Iranian thrust, or instead an overwhelming Iranian attack that smashes the Iraqis into the dust?
