AHC: Wilhelm II winning the Nobel Peace Prize

Change the events of the July Crisis (1914) so that Emperor Wilhelm II gets the Nobel Peace Prize. The July Crisis must happen, but World War I must not.

He was nominated for 1917 IOTL. You just need the Entente to accept one of his plans, so ironically, you need enough improvement of the German war effort to make peace attractive by the end of 1917. The easiest POD is that Italy does not enter the war by whatever means you want.

He has the strength of will to NOT order mobilization in response to Russia doing so. It will be extremely difficult, maybe impossible, to resist Moltke and the General Staff who will be screaming to mobilize. He can invite Russia, Austria-Hungary, and Serbia to send representatives to Berlin for a conference. Russia will have to cease mobilization and Austria - Hungary and Serbia agree to a cease fire.

Franz Joseph likely won't be happy but what can he do if the blank check is suddenly revoked? He can host a conference that allows Austria - Hungary to extract their pound of flesh from Serbia but leave them independent. That should be enough to satisfy the Czar who can claim to have 'saved' Serbia.

All this is only possible if Wilhelm is truly determined to avoid war with France and Russia.

Unlikelyyou and i both know how eager willy was to go to war.... his entire personality needs tyo be changed to make this scenario possible.

Ah, his father Frederick doesn't die of throat cancer, and dies first in 1914. Wilhelm is extraordinarily popular with the people and despite the fact that the nomination deadline is merely days after his ascension to the throne, Wilhelm II handily receives the Nobel Peace Prize.

World War I actually starts several years earlier, and by 1914 it has been going on for quite some time. Wilhelm II and Clemenceau receives the Nobel Peace Prize for bringing peace to Europe. Clemenceau refuses to come to Oslo, citing the fact that people are still in battle. The war actually ends first two years later.

And so, in the year 1914, his Imperial Majesty, Wilhelm II of Germany, using the new medium of motion pictures, spread to the world the message of global warming... :p

As I already wrote this challenge has following criteria:
- July Crisis did happen
- World War I does not happen
- Wilhelm II gets the Nobel Peace Prize
