AHC wi Truman runs and wins in 1952

I wonder what would have needed to happen for this.

Would either North Korea not starting the war or postponing it for three years have done the trick?

Alternatively what would need to have happened for Truman to be seen as winning that war. Actually the aim of defeating the invasion was achieved?

Could Republicans have nominated a really bad candidate?

Also is there any chance of having Eisenhower in office from 57 to 65?

The latest POD for Truman getting re-elected IMO is Stalin dying around the end of 1951, and his successors agreeing to end the Korean War promptly. If that happens, with a less tense international situation, Eisenhower may decide not to run. Even with the war over and running against Taft, Truman will not be guaranteed re-election, but at least it would be a reasonable possibility.

For evidence that it was indeed Stalin's death which led to the end of the war in OTL, see my post at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/soc.history.what-if/e8wZFHxsaFI/UK2dmA1WltgJ

The advantages of running against Taft are, first and most obviously, that he is not a national hero like the immensely popular Ike, and secondly, that he has specific weaknesses of his own (such as the public perception that he wanted to scrap the entire New Deal and revert to isolationism in foreign policy--both of which were oversimplifications of his actual views).

Foreign policy was a main issue in the race for the Republican nomination. The nation was polarized over the stalemated Korean War, and the extent of corruption in the federal government became a major issue as well.
So as David T said, have Stalin die earlier and have the Korean war start later, Truman can campaign on the economic and social issues, showing how the economy under his presidency was prosperous.

Former Governor, Harold Stassen of Minnesota? Senator Wayne Morse of Oregon?

It depends on what Eisenhower does after 52, does he stand for the Governorship New York state election, 1954
