As the title says, an Imperial China ruled by the Timurids. What happens if Tamerlane or one of his successors conquered China and ruled the Middle Kingdom, similar to Mongol Yuan and Manchu Qing?

How China would looked like under Timurid rule? Would it be like the Chinese version of Mughal Empire?

It won't last to my idea. India was an easier picking as it was divided during Baburs conquest. Ming China exists and is not easily to beat within a decade, a time Timur does not have.

If it succeeded, it would be a Yuan version. Not a long lasting one. To last longer it really needs to be lucky in some ways.

Would they implement Islam ?

Would they implement Islam ?

If a Timurid dynasty came to power in China, they would have a hard time having all their subjects practice Islam. The ruling class of Turko-Mongols and other elites would be Muslim and I can see the Timurids coopting the idea of the Mandate of Heaven to justify their rule in China. ITTL, I would see Chinese remaining the official language of the Empire. I see the Chinese armies adopting some cavalry tactics from the Timurids. If the dynasty were to last a long time, I do see Chinese culture being more influenced by Persian, Turkic, and Central Asian culture in terms of the arts and design. Nonetheless, I see the average Chinese person in this Empire to be Chinese. The Timurids here would have to be tolerant of the myriad of faiths practiced here, otherwise, a lot of rebellions would occur.

Well... pretty accurate. The Islamic Timurid Rulers of China will be pragmatic in sense of religion. There is no point in justifying a new rebellion. The lasting of this dynasty depends on if they adapt fast enough to China. Remain Islamic but assimilate.
