AHC/WI: Thailand attacks Japan in the 16th century

When Toyotomi Hideyoshi invaded Korea in 1592, Ming China quickly sent a huge army to Korea to help its vassal. The consequent seven-year war fought by China and Korea against Japan was the largest war in the entire 16th-century world.

One little known fact is that Siam or Thailand, which was also a Chinese vassal, offered to send an enormous fleet (supposedly involving 200,000 troops) to attack the Japanese Archipelago in order to draw Japanese troops away from Korea.

This anger happened, but what if it had?

Quite an interesting topic. However I am doubtful if Thailand could afford to send such a large number of troops away in a time when Thailand was at war with many of her neighbours. Even if they managed it, logistics would be terrible.

The sheer logistics of that like Xia said would make it near impossible. Even for a western nation at the time that has a much larger navy sending 200k troops across the water would make even the most insane dictator Think Carefully about that. But even if you wave away logistical problems Japan itself isn't suited for massive scaled battles. The island is suited for small to medium scaled battles.

It's not that Japan isn't suited for large battles, it's that most if not all of the lords who were a part of Hideyoshi's forces, where largely the lords of Chugoku which is the western part of Honshu and lords from the islands and Kyushu and Shikoku. You still a whole another half of island of clans that didn't anyone to Korea, not that western Honshu was totally defenseless.

Even If this Thai force did land even if they have lots of supplies you still have to deal with the problems of the fact the Sengoku period only ended two years prior, so most of the Japanese troops they would have to fight would be hardened and experienced from many years of fighting, and most of Japan is hills and mountains with some plains.

Thailand isn't really a centralised state for this to happen, that as well as the lack of motivation and logistics.
