The Mongol Empire was one of the largest empires in history, uniting much of Eurasia. But it only lasted for a couple of centuries.
Is there any way it could have survived to the present day, while retaining most of its vast territory?
I understand that the Empire's downfall was caused primarily by infighting between Genghis's sons. What if Genghis had had only one son, and he had had only one son, etc., so there was only one line of patrilineal descent?
What would a present-day Mongol Empire look like, having been through the Industrial Revolution?
