AHC/WI: Sino-Centric World

Delta Force

With a point of divergence around the time of the Chinese Treasure Fleets, how could China and the Far East have become the dominant cultural, economic, political, religious, and military force in the world? What kind of changes might there have been for history?

I don't know much about Chinese history but off the top of my head. Keep innovating, don't turn inward, and establish actual military bases/diplomatic bases in Southeast Asia. Encourage the growth of Chinese settlements outside China proper that still hold strong links to the mainland. That should at least give them near defacto control of East Asia. Maybe.

China has gone through major, relatively long-term fragmentation in its history before, I'd say that if you botched the Qing takeover, and left the country in split between several major power blocs post-Ming, it could result in the competition for innovation and resources necessary for technological development and industrialization before one of the powers conquers the rest. Or maybe reunification isn't even needed; just have some powerful competing Chinese coastal states dominate the world and that alone would get you Sino-centricism points.
