AHC/WI: Russian victory in the East, French defeat in the West

What it says on the tin; what would you have to do/alter in order to get an outcome to WW1 that ends with a French defeat on the Western Front, but a Russian victory from the East? Moreover (depending on how the AHC is accomplished of course), what would be the repercussions of such defeat/victory for the respective Entente powers?

The Russian army is reformed greatly sometime before the war. Meanwhile, a Wilhelm II focuses everything on the army. When WWI comes, the Schlieffen plan succeeds due to the superior German army, but the Russians also take Galicia and win at Tannenburg. From there, it is a war of attrition that can only go one way.

Hmmm...if France falls does Britain just contents itself to fight in the side theaters and sea or do they also send expeditionary forces to the Eastern Front?

Or maybe have them not even joining, specially if Germany focuses on the army instead. Could that be enough to make France fall?

Also, what about Italy? With France defeated would they join the CP?
