AHC/WI: Prince Nobuhito becomes Emperor of Japan

Historically, Hirohito's younger brother Nobuhito was strongly opposed to the militarization of Japan, opposing the Second Sino Japanese War and the Pacific War. His wife was also very active in charities, and her brother attempted to help allied POWs. So overall this guy sounds like he would have changed the course of Japanese history if he became Emperor, but to do that Hirohito and Chichibu would have had to die. So say Nobuhito does ascend the throne, is he met with opposition? How strong is said opposition? How does this affect WWII, and Japanese relations in general?

Hirohito could be assassinated by Namba in the Toranomon Incident, which effectively makes Yasuhito/Chichibu the next in line to Taishō. After which, as Emperor, have him pressured to abdicate by the Tōseiha faction of the Imperial Army for his support of the rebel Kōdoha in the Feb 26 Incident, provided events go as per normal without Hirohito.

EDIT: Might be a bit late to prevent the militarization from starting, but at least Nobuhito could stem it right before the Marco Polo incident blows up.
