AHC/WI: President Wyatt Earp

As the title says, how could we possibly get the famed lawman of dodge city and tombstone elected president of the United States? What are the effects of him being President?

Bonus points if he serves more than one term.

For the first idea, maybe have him stay in Dodge City. In OTL, he left because of his disgust with political corruption. Perhaps if he stays he could become a member of the state legislature. After that, he gets elected to the house of representatives. A few years in the house, maybe he makes a run at the oval office?

Might delay the introduction of the Secret Service. If you were a potential assassin, would you take a shot at Wyatt Earp?

Maybe He becomes a political Key ally of Rossevelt. They had ties and friendship OTL. He was only 10 years older. Maybe Roosevelt picks hin for some better office. Instead of wasting his time as an referee and gambler Earp is further involved in Police work. Iam not sure regarding Earp's real life competence thought.

From what I can tell (though he was rather fast and loose with the exact rules), Earp was a good lawman who kept the peace. Another boon about him being President, he seems to have supported equality between all races

Could very well be nominated to head the Bureau of Investigation, instead of J. E. Hoover.

Yes, there are Stories that he fell out with Doc Holiday because of his Antisemitic remarks ( allegedly). Earp converted to Judaism himself for Josie Earp was Jewish. Earp also defied Anti-Chinese- League activists. And he also seemed to habe worked with African American and did never speak ill of them.

Maybe Roosevelt picks him as attorney General and backs him as his successor in the 1908 election?
Was Earl known to a broader populance prior to Stuart lakes biography ? Maybe If Earp had worked in a position beside Roosevelt before the election it might even work.

Would be interesting If he is involved in the recruitment of Rough Riders on Rosevelts requests. Maybe even joining the war on Cuba. He's only 50 than. Could lead to a reputation, especially as friend of Roosevelt.

Maybe He rises a Rough Rider regiment and even rides along Theodore at San Juan Hill into battle.
