AHC/WI: PM William Cavendish

Well, just like the title says really. William Canendish was the husband of Kathleen Kennedy (JFK's little sister) and ran in a by-election in 1944 for Parliament. Let's say he wins that, but what course would be need to chart through British politics to become Prime Minister? Bonus points if he's PM while JFK is President (no Kennedy assassination is fine to meet this requirement).

Also, any idea's what his government would look like or what would be done?

Gone Fishin'
He'll be wiped out in 1945, without a doubt, though a comeback in 1950 isn't out the question. His peerage may cause some irks, but assuming we keep butterfly's minimal, potential successor to Macmillan. Obvious issue is that he died in 1944, so it's hard to get a beat on what kind of person he would be. To be fair, he'd of probably ended up in the Foreign Office, or be torn to shreds in the Home Office.

Succeeding as Duke might stop him standing as an MP but it doesn't stop him being Prime Minister. Doesn't help but it is not, in itself, a bar.

As someone who will become a Duke in 1950 he has a fairly slim chance of becoming PM, but his contemporary Alec Douglas-Home aka the 14th Earl of Home managed to become PM after disclaiming his title. Still Lord Hartington (as a holder of a courtesy title he would be known by that rather his "normal" name) would carry the extra burden of being much wealthier than Home and English.
