Well, the counterculture was left-wing because the dominant culture(against which it reacted) was conservative. So your alternate premise might require a world where the dominant culture was left-wing. Which might be a pretty tall order.
Basically, if you were against sex drugs and rock and roll in the early 1960s, you WERE establishment. So no need to go "counter".
I suppose the Objectivists perceived themselves as rebels, against a dominant LEFT-WING social order. And they were pretty hostile to drugs and rock music(and I suspect sex conducted outside of whatever prescriptions Ayn Rand laid down). And even if you think the dominant economic order is conservative, their antipathy to rock music and allied artistic movements places them against the prevailing media culture(which likes anything that sells, even if it goes against traditional vlaues).
