AHC/WI: More advanced and cheaper skyscraper technology

So what PODs would allow for the building and creation of skyscrapers and high rises to be cheaper and more developed, and what would the effects of these processes being cheaper be? Would we still see the rise of housing crisis in major cities, and would this have an effect on the rise of more socialist ideas in urban areas and urban poverty in general.

The biggest problem of any high rise is the number of elevators, and their speed.

Otis proposed to solve this using linear induction motors instead of cables. This would also allow cars to move down sidings or even horizontally out to external parking structures, etc. and for multiple cars to share the same vertical shaft.

[ It would also require vastly more complex software and you'll still get collisions, cars falling down shafts or running into endwalls, etc. but hey, progress requires sacrifices... ]
