AHC/WI: Monmouth's Rebellion Succeeds?

What it says on the tin. Notwithstanding the fact that OTL's rebellion was more or less doomed to fail due to a lack of coordination, organisation and numbers, what are the short term and long term repercussions if James Scott, the Duke of Monmouth is able to successfully depose his uncle, James II/VII and have himself crowned King Of England, Scotland and Ireland in the style of the Glorious Revolution?

A good place to start would be what he and his co-conspirators promised to do: The declaration of James Duke of Monmouth, & the noblemen, gentlemen & others, now in arms, for defence & vindication of the Protestant religion, & the laws, rights, & privilieges of England, from the invasion made upon them, & for delivering the kingdom from the usurpation & tyranny of James Duke of York.

Given the liberal (Whiggish) leanings of the conspirators, it could either remain as a liberal monarchy or see the same slide into regicide and extremism that was seen in OTL's English Civil War.
