AHC/WI: McDonald's didn't come to the United Kingdom until later than OTL

This is my first go at an AHC, so apologies if I haven't quite got it up to standard on here.

In OTL, McDonald's launched in the United Kingdom in Woolwich in 1974.

This was the list of McDonald's restaurants I used.

However, what if, and (the POD has yet to be decided), McDonald's didn't come to the United Kingdom until much later - like, say, the late 1990s or early 2000s?

In OTL, its competitor Burger King launched in the United Kingdom in 1977, only 3 years after McDonald's, and Wimpy was launched via brand licensing from Lyon's in 1954.

In this AHC, the WI is twofold:
  • McDonald's launches later in the United Kingdom in ATL, compared to OTL - how does this affect the fast-food industry? Decide on when.
  • McDonald's launches in different nations earlier or later than in OTL (does not have to be congruent with the above bullet point)
I'm interested to see how this AHC goes.

Kentucky Fried Chicken had been in the UK since 1965, and 250 locations a decade later, when Pizza Hut had been in country for just a of couple years.

The UK already had the burger but I do think the Big Mac is probably the kind of perfection that you get with Coke, Heinz Ketchup or a pint of Stella.

So it's exponential growth still but retarded to the point the Mc franchise hits these shores.
