With a pod in 1830 have have Greece have a larger population than in OTL. The population should be atleast twice what it is currently(around 10 million in 2019) by 2019.
What if Greece had a larger population? How would or could that impact historical events?
Greece and the Ottoman Empire exchange populations in 1830 or 1878 except for Thessaly (if 1830) and the Aegean islands. This will include Albanian orthodox Christians as well as the Karamanlides. Future migration of smaller Arab Orthodox Christian migration might also help. They will assimilate in the Greek Society.
No needless wars and repression because of it. And a healthy natural growth of the Greek populations.
Edit: depending on the borders the population can be defined.
- Greece of 1830 could have a population of 15 million by now.
- Greece of 1881 could have a little more? Like 18 million or so
- Greece of 1912 could have 20 million population
- Greece of 1919 could have 25-30 million
- Greece of 1923 could have 20-25 million
Megali Greece could even have as big as 40 million. But alot of assimilation is needed of Albanian, Bulgarian, Turkish and Arab Christians, preferably Orthodox Christians. After that, it needs some era of peace to have a decent population growth. But such Greece will alter OTL way too much that peace is no guarantee...
