Turkic peoples are a Genetically and Geographically diverse and most are Muslim today. In this AHC,you need to have a significant Turkic origin population following Hinduism. Turkic people first invaded India when they weren't yet Muslim with the "White Huns". As the name suggests, they could have been mostly Iranian/Tocharian/Caucasian people but with a Turkic confederation and influence. That's how most Turkic people occur around the World even today. So in this timeline, have a significant part of North India or West India speaking a Turkic language and following Hinduism. Gujjar is said to be a Turkic origin name and related to Turkish Goçer and are said to be the descendants of the Huns. This means Gujarat and Rajasthan have significant influence. Have them Turkic speaking and 100% Hindu or Buddhist in this timeline and within the borders of Indian Subcontinent.

To have them be hundred percent Indic religiously, (some could end up Jains as well) you need to prevent Islamic incursions or Islam becoming a significant cultural force in international relations. Prevent the Sassanid fall and that should work. Next you need more Turkic groups coming down to India if you want to maintain language- there’s a high chance they would sanskritise like the Iranic and Turkic groups that came down otl before Islam, so if you want to prevent that you need to form a critical mass of Turkic immigrants. Even so, it’d be hard to prevent Sanskrit and Prakrit loan words making up a significant chunk of their vocabulary, possibly and probably even the majority- as long as the grammatical base and common vocabulary stays Turkish is that enough to satisfy the requirements? Also you’d probably see tengri or whatever deity they brought with them being subsumed as an epithet of whatever Indic religious figure was most prominent eg Vishnu or Shiva.

Buddhism isn't hard. One of the Khans of the second Göktürk Khanate considered settling down im towns and convert to Buddhism. As long as the Turks remain east of Samarkand, they are likely to turn Buddhist.

Hinduism is tricky. They can enter India as Pagans and convert but likely will be absorbed by the locals as a result. To avoid this, they need to be concentrated in Kashmir or somewhere along the Indus river. The chance is that these Hindu Turks are still doomed to assimilate.

The mongols conquer and destroy the delhi sultanate. With hindus integrated, many hindu philosphers and missionaries spread alongside the silk road resulting in the conversion of of the kazakh and uyghur khanates.

In my now abandoned tl of the crying man, I posited a messianic Vaishnavism viewing Genghis Khan as Kalki (the Avatar of Vishnu) come on his horse to renew the Dharma. Not sure how feasible that would be, but Genghis as a religous figure is (imho) a sorrly underused idea.
