What are the best POD for the people in the Pacific islands to adopt Hinduism or Buddhism as their religions?

Syncretic versions are also accepted.

Have the trading companies of South India or Chinese voyages continue. Long voyages will bring Hinduism and/or Buddhism to the East Indies and Philippines. From there it can spread to the Pacific or more voyages would do much of the same.

East of the Philippines? Are we reading the same history?
Manitobot said that there should be at least hindus and buddhist in the Philippines in OTL Philippines was either hindu or buddhist before the spanish came, there are areas that are buddhist there are areas that are hindu..the muslims were a negligible minority.

I agree with @manitobot. Specifically, I think the key lies in Chola trading guilds exploring Australia, which if memory serves me right has quite spectacular rudrakshas. They could then circumnavigate it, making their way to New Zealand, and further towards neighbouring Pacific archipelagos.

Alternatively, have the Chola conquer the Philippines. If memory serves me right, the founder of Cetu was actually a Chola, so it’s certainly possible. That’s a very probable outlet to explore the Pacific islands.

Have Chola Puppetize both Cebu and Madyaas, that is possible, but that can create a butterfly if there is no marriage between Sasaban and the Majapahit emperor nobody can stop the islamicization of Luzon and Sulu in the latter 14th to early 15th century since they are connected to Pasai.
