AHC/WI: communist Germany and fascist Russia

I could see an alliance happening too, but it would only be made for their own benefit. They would probably agree to this so that they can get rid of their enemies, but this would be part of their strategy to make the eventual conflict between them easier to win. For Communist Germany the plan would probably be:
  • Use my "allies" to defeat UK and France.
  • Backstab Russia as quickly as possible and defeat them in the conflict over control of the Baltic States.
  • Then defeat their other allies in Continental Europe and take control of it.
For Fascist Russia it would be:
  • Defeat Japan and subject them to ethnic cleansing.
  • Assist Germany in their conflict in Western Europe, but only give them enough supplies to defeat them. Then hope that Germany gets beaten up, or at least too cocky after their victory.
  • Backstab Germany and start to invade Eastern Europe, then defeat Germany once and for all.
  • Betray China and take control of the mainland.
  • Spread Lebensraum and take control of much of Mainland Europe, but perhaps spare Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, and Greece due to a shared Orthodox and Slavic culture, as well as Italy and Spain.

The problem here is that I doubt Germany could win the conflict in Western Europe as quickly as Russia with Japan. The odds of Germany winning the "Battle of the Baltics" are very low at that point because it would be on the defensive, have been beaten up from its previous conflicts and not have had time to prepare (making it pretty much forced into conflict), and have no allies (or no significant ones) to help it. The odds of Germany winning the war at any point at all are very low unless you get an earlier communist expansion to happen (pre-war). By the time Germany is invaded then the Axis have pretty much won in Europe. As for winning the war in general, again it's really dependent on how strong Russia really is. I can't really envision it winning the Pacific War, for example.
Yeah in my vision France is not in the allies it actually joins the axis due to radicals gaining a voice by way of a hostile communist power right on its borders I have doubts Russia would have its first focus would be in Asia hatred of Japan aside the great enemy who had the audacity to humiliate them so terribly in the Great War not to mention the traitors who had the audacity to secede from glorious mother Russia. Essentially Russia will freight train through Poland and the baltics if the invasion of Poland doesn’t happen the same and then Germany gets sandwiched between Russia and fascist France.

From there Russia is essentially on the warpath against any nation that would have committed perceived slights against them candidates include Japan (revenge for the Russo-Japanese war), turkey(historical nemesis and holder of Constantinople), Persia(historic rival)and, England and France(perceived failure to help against the German enemy essentially the stabbed in the back myth but for external rather than internal forces). From there it’s essentially an attempt to build a massive sprawling land empire for ho sucsessful such a thing could ever be

Italy would be Italy and still very likely to have the same goals as otl

France would be candidate for the ‘most likely to get backstabbed based on desires of your enemies’ award the reason they would most likely go radical would be because Germany would be communist their bitter rivals with an aggressive ideology obsessed with spreading itself that had been a dirty word in Europe for year at that point it would probably require some extra little pushes like Britain and the US perhaps trying to act as mediators gets perceived as a sort of betrayal from its former allies in the Great War daring to side with the barbaric Prussian Huns.

As for how strong Russia would be it would almost certainly skip the agrarian phase of communism the soviets suffered through not to mention clear war goals would probably leave them already well above the indurialization level they had during ww2 maybe even past late war levels.

I actually think the topic of a Communist Germany victory is pretty interesting on its own.

Maybe a larger communist expansion before the war, or Russia fucks up REALLY badly at some point during the war?
