What would have to change to stop Tony Blair from sending British troops into Iraq, and what would the ramifications of this be?
One possible scenario is that the cabinet decide that Blair's made the wrong call, and a resignation every hour force Blair to renege, but almost certainly kill his premiership and he'll have to go.
Is there a way of Blair changing his mind and staying out of the war while not losing (too much) of his credibility, keeping both the party and the government united, and staying in office for at least another few years? Bonus points if you don't radically change Blair's politics or his doctrine on foreign policy and liberal interventionism. Also, bonus points if you keep him in office after 2007.
