AHC: Whermarcht cavalry divisions 1941

OTL Germanies only cavalry divisions were SS supposedly the whermarcht was to be largely mechanised this never happened and so the Germans had great difficulty fighting partisans and patrolling their conquered territory Russia was simply to big, cavalry could have added a great deal of mobility to the occupation troops.

Your challenge should you accept it is to have a Whermarcht cavalry wing preferaby without weakening the motorised and panzer formations.

Nah if you got spare horses your going to want to send them to the logistics units. Poor bastards need all the help they could get.

Well i suppose it wouldnt matter, whether they get sent to the rear lines, or used for occupation duty they would probably have the same amount of impact on the war.

Now to be fair the Heer did operate a cavalry division, the 1st. It was later turned into an armor division though. Also both the Cossack divisions were Army before they were transferred to the SS.

As for the challenge itself. Germany has some cavalry brigades that could be bumped up to a full division if command wanted too i suppose.

Alternatively i like the idea of Goering forming a Prussian Cavalry Division, for kicks. Why? Because he's Hermann Goering, and the Luftwaffe totally needs some cavalry.
