AHC: Weimar Republic vs France war over Alsace in 1920s/1930s

How could you have this scenario:
After the end of the First World War and the transfer of Alsace-Moselle back to France, German nationalists in the region run in elections on a platform copied from Sinn Fein's success in Ireland, abstentionism. Their aim is to win a majority of seats to the French Parliament in Alsace, and then refuse to sit in Paris, instead forming their own revolutionary 'Landtag' in Strassburg. That Landtag would then apply to join the Weimar Republic as a constituent land.

The German Nationalists win a majority of seats in Alsace, abstain from the French legislature and form their Landtag and apply to join the Weimar Republic. The French government declares the Landtag illegal and uses coercion in Alsace. Meanwhile in Germany, emotions are stirred as the people and politicians cheer their nation on in what is now referred to as the Elsasskampf. Then, in a moment that excites Germany and shocks the world, the German foreign minister smuggles his way into Alsace and gives a stirring speech in Strassburg that is recorded on radio in which he describes Germany's sympathy for the people of Alsace and that they will be most welcome as a new Land. He tells the cheering crowd that if France were to ignore its own principles of Liberté, Egalité and Fraternité, they will have the full support of Germany and that their struggle would become the struggle of many others; of the Algerian, of the South-East Asian and of the Breton against colonialism. Alsace's wish to join the Weimar Republic is accepted in Berlin while the French are furious.

They French send in the army to occupy Alsace and the Germans consider this an invasion of their territory, a guerrilla war begins with Alsacian partisan fighters given weapons by the Reichswehr. This then leads to open war between France and Germany.

You'd need Weimar to be ruled by a right wing Nationalist party, they wouldn't bother if there economy is bad which means that their economy must be better either. Also they wouldn't go to war with no military, you can't fight WWII with freikorps and no Navy or air force. Also was German sentiment in Alsace even that strong?

Wasn't the Weimar Republic more interested in regaining land lost to Poland and in the east? Hence the whole Locarno Treaties and trying to bury their differences with France?

Even so, a war against France would probably be quite short - but not in Germany's favour, for a change.

I doubt, that
If the ATL-Weimar Republic still follows the treaty of Versailles, the army is limited to 100.000 man and restricted in several other aspects. It would be also a violation of this treaty to deploy troops in the state of Baden (In the southwest, direct Rhine border to France). At the same time, parts of the Ruhr area are occupied by France. Such a strategic situation would make such a provocative move (like the annexation of Alsace) unlikely.

I also strongly doubt, that a rightwing German party could win the majority of the votes in Alsace. When Alsace-Lorraine was part of the German Empire, large parts of the population (including large parts of the German speaking majority), identified more with France than with the German Empire. (And elected during the German Empire often parties which where skeptical about the German Empire). A result of this, is the declaration of an independent Alsace, which only existed in November 1918. But the French assimilation policy after 1918 was unpopular.
Alsace-Lorraine was divided into the 3 departments Haut-Rhin, Bas-Rhin and Moselle.

If you want to have a large movement in Alsace-Lorraine for becoming part of Germany again, you need to change two things:
1. A better integration of Alsace-Lorraine into the German Empire.
Give Alsace-Lorraine the status as a normal state of the Empire far earlier.
Prevent some of the scandals/problematic behavior of the German Army in Alsace-Lorraine in OTL.
Better general relationship between political Catholicism and the Empire. (Since Alsace-Lorraine is mostly Catholic)
2. A failed French assimilation policy after TTL-WW1, which lead to far larger problems and unrest in Alsace-Lorraine than OTL.
