AHC: War in South America

Venezuela, Guyana, and Suriname, three nations on the North-eastern coast of South America, all have disputed borders. Despite this fact, there has not been a major war between any of them on this issue. Being the warmonger that I am, I'd like to take this chance to make South America just a little more violent, so your challenge is to get any two of them involved in a war. Bonus points if you get all three of them involved!

As the last drops of oil are being sucked from the earth, Britain sends several warships to the Falklands in order to secure the islands and their oil for the crown. Argentina gets very pissed but America is on the side of England. During this time the Mexican government is toppled and taken over by the cartels.
The new Mexican government cuts off oil to the US and bands together with Argentina and Venezuela. Soon all of South America including Guyana and Suriname are bound in an alliance against NATO.
China hatches operation stranglehold, a plot to cut off all oil supplies to the US. This involves the Russians securing oil supplies in Canada and invading the EU, China invading and capturing the oil supplies in the Middle East, and Latam holding together long enough for the Chinese to send troops to Mexico and invade the US which is paralyzed by the complete lack of oil imports.

Two of these countries were, until recently, colonies of Britain and the Netherlands respectively. So that complicates things quite a bit. Your territorial war would have to be post independence.

Another problem is that the territorial disputes are in the deep inlands, highly inaccessible under normal circumstances. Just hell trying to fight a war in there.

True. But I didn't set a POD date because I intended it to be simply in the 'post-1900' era. So you have a large(100 year) amount of leeway.

This is neither Future History or the ASB Forum. None of that made sense.
