AHC: War between the UK and France after WWI

Challenge: Have some kind of war between a non-communist non-fascist United Kingdom and a non-communist non-fascist France some time after the end of World War 1. Also, the Weimar Republic survives.

Not exactly fascist, but maybe the French rally around a charismatic leader who manages to convince them that the political instability following World War I is somehow the British's fault. That, coupled with the fact that the British Empire actually increased and was at its peak after the War, while France, though it got Syria, got little to nothing else, might sour Anglo-French Relations. Surviving Wiemar means no German invasion of Frane or Poland and nothing to continue the alliance between the two. To restore French national pride, said charismatic leader decides to try to get more former CP territory in Africa or the Middle East, or possibly attempts to cut off trade between India and Britain by occupying the Sinai Canal via Syria. That, or French support for the Irish during their War of Independence.

No chance bar ASB. Democratic countries won't go to war with each other, unless pushed by forces much greater than them (case of Finland in WW2).

Imperial Germany versus France in WW1. UK declares on Imperial Germany.

US Civil War.

American Revolutionary War.

War of 1812.

UK versus France in the early Napoleonic Wars.

etc.

After WW1 is tough. Granted they shot at each other in OTL WW2 though so nothing is impossible (even though that was Vichy and forced by the Germans, many Frenchmen didn't shed any tears).

Maybe some sort of Imperial entanglement that goes hot and is restricted to one place? Is it too late for a *Fashoda Incident to turn bloody, if minor?

Whilst its not ASB, it is highly unlikely, both countries are war weary and traumatised socially from the Great War. I'm not one to talk in absolutes, but this is one of the most difficult and unlikely PoDs ever.

Well, my thoughts are that for a UK-France war after WW1, the Treaty of Versailles is far less harsh than in OTL, perhaps due to British intervention against French demands, thus the French have a grudge against Britain, which slowly grows over time, say 10-20 years, before spilling over into a war, perhaps with France trying to take colonies that they believe should belong to them, but Britain gained instead

There are many reasons why this is unlikely, but the democratic peace theory is bogus. It's more like the US-aligned states peace theory.
