AHC Venice gets colonies in themes world.

Now I have a POD about how Venice could acomplish this feat but I leave this open so Other members can gve me their. Ideas..
Shit!!!! Srry I meant new world...

So in the year 1453 The Ottomans were at War with Venuce suppos
e the ottomans sieze all of Venices med possestion leaving it with jus Italian, Illyroan, and Istirian domain.... All this done by 1460, so Venice decides to find another way to access Eastern trade, they See the morrocan province of Cei
uta so they pay a lot of money to buy that piece of land. From here the Venezians look for a way to get to the east, come 1490 Columbus asks Venice whether or not it will fund his expedition to the east across the atlantic, he was already refused acceptance from the Spanish states so Venice agrees.

Alright is it ASB or still plausable....

Yes, obviously a genoese merchant will want to prop up its main rival.

Nope in this tl Venice is basically cut off from eastern trade due to the ottomans siezing all of Venices Med possestiins so Venice looks for another way to the east and it decides to take African land so that it can gain a foothold from which it can launch explorers to try and find another route, plus don't say it's ASB for Veniceto become a colonial power, the neitherlands accomplished the feat.

Also in otl some 1000 Spanish conquered the largest empires in Mesoamerica and SA...

Venice lost all its eastern mediterranean possessions IOTL and it still had access to eastern trade. The Netherlands were an oceanic power, Venice is a mediterranean power, these are two very different things. Losing the east won't make Genoa and Venice less rivals, it will just make them more because now Venice is trying to get into Genoa's new turf, so yes Colombus asking not only an eastern power but a power he's trading against to fund him is ASB; what can they offer him? A bunch of galleys? He won't survive the way in galleys.

And please that dumb thing about the Spanish conquering Mesoamerica and Peru with a handful men: they took the Incas after a civil war and Cortez manipulated local politics; he had about 100 times more natives in his army than he had spaniards. He was insanely lucky and few if any would be conquistadores succeeded this sort of feat apart from those two.

So can't some Venetian accomplish thesame feat Cortez did;) Oh about Genoa I already know how to deal with it, just have The French get interested in Italy early so they invade Genoa..... So
with Genoa crushed Venice loses
it's main rival...

I think the idea is neat... I agree. The Netherlands were able to, and thus why not Venice? Also, as Venice was virtually a city built on sea trade it would have welcomed the chance to have goods from the new world...

I think to "discover" new world first, for the Venetians, would be much more plausible than them actually creating a COLONY in the new world...

Colombus is still Genoese.
With Genoa crushed, he'll end up in french service or in the service of another genoese friend.

You should read some history: when this happened IOTL, Genoa became a french satellite, not a french province. Their claims were on Milano, not on Genoa which was a republic.

Also no, I'll be honest, "repeating Cortez' feat" without being Cortez requires more than author fiat, especially when the power doing it is using non-ocean going galleys.

Oh srry you misunderstood me I realize Columbos cannot and does not help Venice so instead a Venetian explorer tries to find another route to The east.

About eastern trade, In this tl Venice loses evrything in the east and get blocked off from Ottoman trade, also Even if Genoa is a French sattelite it can do little to oppose Venice...

i feel like this POD is getting pushed further and further back...

look, you don't need any of that. you don't even need columbus. what you need is a stronger venitian fleet that can get firm holdings in africa (you covered that), they build seaworthy ships for the atlantic, and they pull a portugal and try to go around africa. some dumbass gets blown off course and ends up in brazil.

there, venice discovers america

Single most important historical change for a Venice in America thing.

K fine so the Venezians do build such seaworthy ships is it more plausable now???

that's why i put it in;)

i suppose it would be very easy for venice, in this position, to become a slave-trading state, with their lands in africa and the newly discovered americas
