AHC: US-India Special Relationship

China and india went to war briefly during the 60s have that spiral out of control and have the US and commonwealth jump in to save india and your going to have a very tight Indian American relationship.
I agree. Perhaps informal assistance to India by the Taiwanese, despite India’s recognition of the communists in China might help.

Japan and the US have close ties despite also having different morals, values, social problems, cultural standards and goals and despite having fought a brutal war.
Japan didn’t really have a choice in the matter what with it loosing in the aforementioned brutal war and being occupied by US troops. The political system the US supported became so entrenched that Japan has had basically the same political party in charge post-war for decades.

Look back to pre-WWII days of the Taishō Democracy and you see that US and Japan weren’t on friendly terms.

We didn't appreciate Japan's imperialism.
