In light of the recent small arms threads and what ifs, I decided to try my hand at it. During World War II, the US tried creating a copy of the MG-42, the T24 machine gun. Chambered for .30-06 instead of the original 7.92x57mm, it was considered as a replacement for both the BAR, and the M1919 Browning, however during testing the copy failed.
