AHC: Upper-Middle Income Africa

The challenge is to create a decently detail timeline of how every African country, more or less, is a upper-middle income nation in a state ever-solid growth in 2011. This entails in 2011 having similar in progress infrastructure, social development, and income equality/safety as Western European nations during the 1970s, with exclusion that energy sources are more eco-friendly given the times. Some nations due to obvious circumstances can either be lesser middle income nations or more wealthy upper income nations. In addition to this, as a unitary force Africa should be influential on multiple stages: economically, diplomatically, and militarily. POD(s) of your choosing between 1900-1985. Bonus points for making idealistic Pan-African ideology (excluding United States of Africa movement and African Socialism) highly successful, so much so that by the 2000s it is a defining aspect of any African culture.
